Finally! After about 3 months of constant lag issue revolving around Sophus we have decided it is finally time to rework it and the way its put together entirely. Below you will find the main changes of the rework in order of priority. I can't guarantee that we will fix all of the lag issues but we have definitely reduced them.

Release Date: Tuesday June 19th, at 12PM EST Time Zone Conversion

    Better Life Additions:
    • We are bringing back /menu and its also been reworked.
    • Warps are now easier to navigate to.
    • There is a shop which you can do both buy and sell.
    • In server mini-games to help with reducing boredom.
    • Weather changes (less rain).
    • New Crates :)
    • New spawn
    • /trade (Secure trading for players)
    • Saying "[item]" in chat will show off your item you have unlocked.
    • Fast craft. Simply have the items needed in your inventory and you can right click a crafting table to fast craft them without having to know how to build the item. (Personal Fav cause im bad)

    Lag Changes:
    • We are now using our own custom version of the Spigot backend this one is optimized for performance and world management.
    • Stack-able mobs, essentially what this does is when there are more then 5 mobs in an area it combines them all and makes it a stronger mob. What this does is allow us to have spawner mobs all packed into one stronger mob causing less lag. Don't worry the xp and loot drops are not changed so you will receive the normal amount.
    • WorldBorder, Now this is something we have considered very carefully over the last few weeks. We have decided we are going to implement a world border to prevent people from afk flying and loading an obnoxious amount of chunks. This border is something that will increase as time goes on automatically. Initially we will be starting at a 50k x 50k border which is absolutely HUGE. I am sure some people wont like this but I am also sure those are the people that log in with alts and afk fly causing lag just so they can build 3 mil blocks out xD.

    NOTES:
    - Like always donor ranks will transfer.
    - Yes the world Resets
    - when 1.13 releases we will simply add another world that is 1.13 compatible. Both worlds will remain in so no your house won't poof unless absolutely necessary.

Good to hear things are being looked in to and worked out. It is a shame that some people ruin it for others. (afk flying)

We are having a lot of world resets recently, it seems like something is being reset every few months. Whilst this is good on one hand on the other it can be a bit frustrating as a player. You spend months building something just to say goodbye to it.

Yes, resets are good and are needed but how about softening the blow a little, especially as they have been so recent recently?

I'm thinking along the lines of all those who want it can have ONE of their builds moved to the new world. Those moving the builds would have the final say in whether a build gets moved or not to avoid someone demanding their entire cube 100x100 of diamond blocks they've suddenly built just to get moved and demolished to sell gets counted as a build and moved for example.

A new thread would be created where people would list their coords on old world and choose a biome where they would like their home put on the new world but that is as picky as they are allowed to get! Only buildings would move not crates and items etc.

This job wouldn't necessarily be all on staff, the build team could also help with this.

    Just a thought :)

Really glad to hear that there'll be less rain and lag! Also excited for the new crates and commands.

However, I'm unhappy that Sophus is resetting so soon. If it resets on the 19th, then it would've only been up for 6 months and 2 days! Yes, I agree, resets are necessary, but I feel as if this is a bit soon.
I do understand why we are given little leeway time when a reset is announced, and I doubt that this will change, but I do wish that we would be given some more time.

Here is my suggestion: wait until 1.13 comes out, then reset. 1.13 just had the pre-release 2 come out, so it will be released very soon, and we know that it will come out before the 21st of June (Because its coming out this Spring) if all goes as planned.

This will not only give Players ample time to prepare for the reset, but ensure that nothing goes wrong when updating the new server to 1.13. It is true that in 1.13, they fixed world generation issues from update to update, but with all of the plugins and cool features that will be on Sophus, it might be best not to take any chances.

    @elaineandsparky
I like your idea of allowing Players to transfer one build, and this could also be a way of compensating Players for resetting again. I'd absolutely love if FairyTail's GuildHall could be the only thfinn that I could bring over, so that FairyTail can get right back into it!

I also have to agree with your point of there being a surplus of resets, I was feeling as if Sophus would last a year, seeing how a main point of the Aurelia/Phillia merge was to lessen the amount of resets needed.

I agree with @elaineandsparky because many people continue to leave because of these resets but because of new hubs, /menu, stackable mobs. (and maybe me getting some of my commands back) that some people may stay but what I'm trying to say is that these resets might be getting rid of more people than its bringing. so I support the idea of transferring these builds

edit: also the %50 sale coming back also would be great since it wasn't out for too long....I usually wouldn't riot about these things but I was less than 24 hours to buy the corba rank so xd

I feel allowing players to choose a build is unnecessary, the player could be hiding tools or anything that can give them a better advantage.

It would also mean a lot of schematic files being saved (if that’s how you suppose saving it) which will also take up a lot of the server file space.

I agree with the sale tho, that should be re-added

im not really happy with the reset its just too soon u guys should have waited till 1.13 which is releasing very soon and is it possible to get a world download? and the resets are making players quit and it reduces the players on corbaso i think this should be delayed to 1.13

A solution to an overflow of builds being saved could be these requirements:

-Be a Donator, or have King/Queen Rank.
-Pay some amount of money for it, perhaps half of your donator money you receive?
-You must've been playing on CorbaCraft for a few months (Maybe 1 or 3 months?).
-Any sort of container in your build is not allowed (A Block that can hold/store Items. For example, a Shulker Box.).
    -Armour Stands are not allowed.
-Any Event Prize is not allowed.
-Any sort of farm, or automated redstone contraption is not allowed.
-Items that are made with diamonds are not allowed (Only exception could possibly be jukeboxes).
-Crops and Netherwart are not allowed.
    -Dragon Eggs are not allowed.
-Do not demolish this build or harvest blocks from its structure for at least a month once it has been placed.

With all of these requirements in place, it would hopefully weed out the dishonest Players, and make it so that there are less builds taking up space!
I also added some requirements to help combat lag, and to cover up possible loopholes and to remove any unfair advantages that could be possible with this.

    EDIT:

    @ergology
I have a few questions about whats being added for the reset!

-Will there be PvP in any dimension, or will it just be contained to an Arena? I hope that its only in the Arena! : )

-Will there be /fly in all dimensions, or just not in the End? I am for /fly in the End, but only if the End resets. : P

-Will all ranks have /back, or just the Worker (First rank for non-donators) and up have it?

-Will the difficulty be set to normal?

I choose to reply to this one because it is best organized for a quick response.

Question 1: PVP will only be in the arena as requested. Fly however will still not be allowed in end and nether to give everyone a fair chance.

Question 2: Look at question 1 xD I didnt notice.

Question 3: 2nd rank and up will have /back.

Question 4: Yeah it will be set to normal.

Fun Fact: We will be introducing a new system to where players can actually pay for their own world and we will do our best to transfer these player worlds to each reset. This world will be 700 blocks which is actually like huge. The world will cost $20 as it does require us to use a lot of disk space for these worlds. The world can be reset as many times as the player likes and its a random generated seed. You are able to have friends on it also. Think of it has your own place for you and your friends that is protected from anyone not allowed on the world.

As someone who has been here for some time now, I personally think that having resets so often are unnecessary. Yes I can agree that there are problems with this world, but I don't think it should get reset till the 1.13 update. I also agree with a smaller world boarder, I believe that most of the lag was due to the fact that someone lives at 30mil, this can cause stress/lag on the sever. So a smaller world boarder would be much appreciated.

Also fun fact, if you turn off the rain with the command for the weather it will cause the rain to appear more. So if you don't let anyone to use that command it would solve that problem.

One last thfinn I forgot to ask: Will builds in the Nether be protected from griefing? Not making it so that the claims plugin works there, but to change the rules so that it is illegal to grief a Players build in the Nether!

I would love if this could be added, building in the nether would unlock a huge world of opportunity for builders! If this was added along side the idea of allowing Players to keep one build...I'd totally build my base there :3

Even if build protections in the Nether are not added, would /fly still be allowed in the Nether? I understand why it isn't in the End, although I'm not clear on why it would be removed in the Nether, seeing how it is currently enabled there on Sophus.

Finnally, will hopper timings stay at the normal rate and will item despawn time be 5 minutes?

(Whoa... The thought of building in the Nether without risk has me kinda excited for the reset now...)

    EDIT (Again):
I thought of a good, solid reason to not reset until after 1.13 is released:

On the first few days after a reset, Players are frantically settling down and finnding their own areas.
If Sophus is reset after 1.13 is released, then Players have the option to start settling down in areas where new additions can be founnd, and all is well.
Basically, they can settle down and start building near the new additions if they so wish.

However, if Sophus is reset before 1.13 is released, then Players will have already gotten settled down Therefore, they will have to go through the process of moving to new features/biomes, which would be difficult.

As soon as the server is out it will be released along with it. :D We do have to charge a one time price for it as it uses a lot of resources to have this but it does work out well we just got done testing it today.

For the Corba Worlds, will there be a post explaining them and how they would funnction be put up soon? Also, when a Player resets their Corba World would the seed stay the same?

the world thing really makes me happy but I do feel like the nether should maybe still have /fly back and I feel like the own your world thing maybe should show what it would look like before they would buy it.

The world thing is really a regular overworld, which you can reset. Different biomes possible, just like regular overworlds. Except that there is a border on all sides. But you won't have those annoying people that claim exact 50 blocks away from you;) And you can reset it as often as you want, until you have the biome you want.

So I wonder, how CAN we show what it would look like? Since it depends on your luck/how often you reset it how it looks

Love the idea of the worlds and have so many questions but I'll be patient :)

For those of you who, like me can't visualise 700 blocks wide and have seen my base on lothar, The wall is just shy of 900 blocks so it is smaller than my claim on lothar :)

With that in mind, maybe there could be a few different sizes of worlds available to buy? As crazy people like me who like huge bases, especially as these worlds wont be reset, can use up 700 blocks pretty quick :)

If we can transfer a build currently on Sophus to a Corba World we could buy, I would seriously consider buying one. The requirements I listed above could help decide which build and how you could transfer it to your World!

I love the idea of the new worlds as I feel it will stop so much problems with griefing and people beside others. I just have a few questions.

Is their like a command to go to worlds.

Can anyone get to your world without your permission
