Greetings, So today I have a pretty IMPORTANT announcement.

Firstly I would like to apologize for the lack of information I have provided in the recent few weeks. I am hoping want I'm about to announce clears up where I have been.

I am here today announcing a project that has been in the making for the last several months.

I introduce to you NotionMC, based on the recent design implemented into Corbacrafts "Philia" world. A new Minecraft server that focuses on a simplified survival, economy, and PVP experience all packed into one. A BALANCED NO PAY TO WIN Minecraft PVP survival server.
    Features:
    • Teams/Guilds
    • Balanced economy
    • Balanced combat experience with advanced anti-hack/cheat
    • Land claims in which PVP and raiding is not allowed
    • Purchasing a rank does NOT give you any in-game advantage
    • Player shops/auction house
    • Bounty system to place or hunt bounties on other players
    • Semi-Vanilla experience
    • Season based
    • 15k x 15k map size
    • Team size 5
    • Semi-automated staffing system utilizing discord
Beta Testing and How to become a beta tester
Becoming a beta tester is extremely simple. Simply create a post with your Minecraft username HERE. You will be placed onto our whitelist after staff has received your in-game name and has time to add you.

Beta testing will last an unknown amount of time, it all depends on the number of bugs we find and how long it takes for us to finish the final pieces of the server. It could take 2 weeks or 3 months we are unsure (we hope no more than 2 weeks).

After Beta testing has concluded the world will be reset and the server will be released for season 1 during which players will compete in 3 separate areas (top balance for a team, top balance for a player, and the top guild). The winners of such challenges will be rewarded at the end of each season.

    Features for Beta testing only:

    • 5k x 5k map size
    • Team size 3
    How rank purchases will work
Buying a rank will not give you any in-game advantages. It will, however, provide you with unique cosmetic options that normal players will not have access to. Things such as special chat abilities, a shiny blue prefix, a custom nickname, and more cosmetic features. At this time all rank features have not been released but you can expect them to be a week prior to release.

    How staffing will work
There will be very few in-game staff members on this server. The reason for this is because players will be responsible for reporting issues they experience via Discord in which staff will handle the issue there. In the game, staff will not be allowed to use their staff ranks while playing on the server. Staff will only be able to "Staff" while on their staff accounts. Staff will not enforce issues in the game unless exigent circumstances exist that require staff to act in the game. We will not be accepting staff applications for this server at this time, nor will all current Corbacraft staff be staff on this server. Please note this server is separate from Corbacraft, meaning different rules apply.

    How does this affect Corbacraft
Well, it simply doesn't as this is completely separate and designed to be simplified. Granted you may see fewer staff online as some will be playing on Notion. Corbacrafts updates will continue to come as they have in the past few months. Especially now with new members developing for the server.

BETA TEST DATE AND TIME March 23rd At 12:00 P.M
    Website: http://notionmc.com/
    Server IP: play.notionmc.com

Any questions please ask them below as I want to clear up everything for when the official release is ready. As of right now, ONLY Corbacrafters are aware of this server and it will remain that way until release. :D

To me, a completely new Server feels like a waste of resources. CorbaCraft is riddled with issues, those need to be fixed first. We don't want to see a new Server, what we want to see is Corbacraft running smoothly!! I also feel as if a new Server is made incredibly redundant with the introduction of the Phillia World. We already have all of this on the Phillia World, so why devote time that could've otherwise been spent on fixing CorbaCraft on this new Server?

I disagree. This will, and already has, affected CorbaCraft. A lot of time has clearly gone into making a new Server, and a lot of money will too. Time that could've been spent adding Donor Worlds (Which are already paid for), and money that could've gone into directly upgrading the CorbaCraft Server. There is a long list of fixes that CorbaCraft needs to see, but instead we get a new Server? No wonder why so many Players (Like myself) are disgruntled!!

Don't get me wrong, a new Server sounds exciting and fun. I might even consider joining, if not for the PvP aspect. But Staff's priorities should align with the Server they work for: CorbaCraft, not another Server.

I will say this one time and one time only.

    1. I do not control the updates for Corbacraft as much as I used to, the staff team mostly handles updates as you have seen in the recent St. Patricks day update and Valentine's update. I am strictly a new feature, and community development, at this time.

    2. Please if you are going to constantly spend time complaining about updates or whatever stuff that is constantly repeated in your 300+ word messages, do not join the NotionMC server. I am running this server and will not be putting out constant over the top updates as that is not the intentions behind the server. However on the flipside, if you are willing to productively mention issues in the Notion discord in a manner that is not requesting additional features I would love to have you as a beta tester on the server.

    3. All the issues you keep mentioning are slowly being fixed and added, as you have seen in the recent updates. (Player Ranks, Crate system rework, mob staking added, colored signs for CORBA rank, lag issues almost being entirely resolved, breeding fixed, a /shop, and a menu for the kits, spawns changing monthly, and many other issues resolved) constantly complaining because one or two features aren't added in a matter of days isn't going to speed the staff up any, if anything it will annoy them as they know how much work they have been doing to make these features happen.

    4. I created Notion because many players and myself extremely enjoyed the Philia server and the idea behind it. After some playtime and testing, it was determined the best way to make this fully functional and balanced is to put it in it's on a server where plugins don't conflict with Corbacraft. This server will also keep the toxic PVP chat away from Corbacraft and players are allowed more freedom in the way they play.

    5. Finally, I created Notion because a PVP server is something I have always wanted to make. The competitiveness, along with the strategy involved is something that intrigues me. And the most important reason for creating Notion, is because Minecraft is lacking a non-pay to win PVP server that is balanced. And my final reason, because I enjoy creating, competing, and the work involved in creating a server from scratch.

Please note this message was not sent in an attempt to make you upset. This message was sent as a thank you to the staff team, build team, and event team members, for working as hard as they do regardless of a few players that constantly judge their decisions. As to you thank you for your honesty, but people will not ever be perfect and simply posting messages complaining about issues unrelated to a topic on a forum post especially in this situation were people have put a large number of hours into a project, will only cause frustration and ultimately slow the addition of these issues down as those that do the updates feel disrespected.

    Hello !
As one of the two players that made a lot of noise these past weeks, I'll allow myself to answer.
First of all : thank you. I really appreciate you taking the time to write a long answer which adressed many of my voiced an unvoiced concerns.
If you read most of my posts, you'll see that what I was afraid of was you picking up other interests than the server and the server being left alone (which, let's be honest, was the most visible part of what happened since the reset. Not necessarily the truth, but the work was invisible because no account was made of the work from the devs).
I totally understand and accept you wanting to move on towards something more exciting. After all, CorbaCraft has been running for a long time and there's only so much one might do in a non-PvP no-grief no-traps no-teams no-wars area.

I'll synthesize my answer by responding to yours :

    1. Got it ! I would like to know, though, what's the new "order of hierarchy" is, and who's working being the curtains (who developps the plugins, who's in charge of answering to our questions/concerns, that stuff) please.

    2. I don't think I'll join Notion, but if I ever do, you can count on me to give you an honest report of the bugs and what would improve the game - and don't worry, I would not have the same expectations because it's just simply not the same kind of servers !

    3. I've noted that. The work that has been done is really great for a short span of time. Still lacking a bit of communication, but we're getting there.

    4. and 5. I entirely agree, and it's a great project altogether.

And last but not least, I still do hope no one felt disrespected because I have made a point to always propose solutions to the problems I was pointing out (with passion, because I still love this server). I'm not asking you to be perfect, I'm trying to help those who can do something do it the best way possible.
    Thanks again and best regards,

    Az'.

P.S : I know you'll be erasing that post at one moment or the other but it was the easiest way to respond. So please feel free to suppress it or to move it somewhere (I'd suggest moving it with your post, which is a good post) to keep your announcement thread clean.

Thank you for your response! I have been trying for a long time now for a response from you, and I am glad that you have finally explained the situation to some degree. Seeing that other Staff members are handling the updates now, I will turn to them for answers instead. I do wish that you had told us this sooner, and that you had commented on the "Issues" thread, but what is done is done.
Know that many Players like myself have felt disrespected and powerless due to your lack of communication, and it has been incredibly frustrating wading through this swamp of problems without a word from you. We invest so much time into posts like these, directly asking you questions, yet you do not respond. Communication on all levels is still a problem on CorbaCraft, although I'm hopeful that it will be fixed soon. I do recognize that Staff has done a lot on the matter of Player Ranks, mob stacking, and more, (All of which I appreciate) but there is still a lot to be done.
I am relived to hear that Notion will not leech CorbaCraft of too many resources, as you are leaving other Staff in charge. I feel relived that I am now able to turn to other Staff for help now, since they have more control over the Server too. Do you know who will be left with overseeing CorbaCraft though?

I am still the owner/overseer of Corbacraft. The server will make the changes it needs when we have the time an ability to make such changes. This will be my last message responding to this type of forum post. Future messages will be handled by the staff. I will note your request but I cannot spend large amounts of time responding to forum post, when progress can be made in much more effective ways.

I understand that you cannot spend time replying to every single post on the Forums. Being a Server Owner comes with a lot of time consuming responsibilities, and sacrifices must be made! However, a lot of Players (Like myself), feel that as a Server Owner you need to spend more time interacting with the Community, and informing us of upcoming updates, etc. Granted, you do have a Staff Team that can speak for you on the majority of matters-- but they shouldn't be solely responsible for relaying everything!
We feel that if you interacted with the Community more, it would be an effective way of achieving progress! After all, Staff do have to work on improving Player/Staff Communication, so what better way to start than by starting with the top?
