    Greetings Corbacrafters!

    It's that time of the year again, meaning its time to update to 1.14 xD. As some of you may have heard this update is absolutely HUGE for us. First off we are bringing back the hub and releases with a new server attached to the once again Corbacraft Network! This server being the nostalgic Philia we all enjoyed so much during its release back in March. Corbacraft's previous survival server will now be named Lothar. We have constructed an outline of important things to note below.

    RELEASE DATE: 5/18/19 11AM EST.
    Hub Features:
    • 2 Servers (Lothar, and Philia)

    • Balanced Economy
    • PVP Disabled inside of land claims.
    • Guilds (Team feature /Guild)

    Other Important Points:
    • All bans/punishments have been reset without prejudice. If you are re-banned upon release and believe there was prejudice resulting from your previous ban please report to me instantly. I will reply to your PM and ensure it is handled.
    • Our next major update will consist of a new website design.
    • Litebans will be re-added and reset.
    • Please report all bugs to staff as they come up so we can address and resolve these bugs ASAP.
    • Any questions asked in regards to this will be added to our F.A.Q section of this post the addition of the question to that section will be considered the official response approved by me.
    • Private worlds will not be on initial release but will be coming in the first update for Lothar.
    F.A.Q

    Does my donator rank transfer?
    Yes your rank transfers across all servers. If you have MVP on the previous Corbacraft you will have it on all servers across Corbacraft.

    Do I get the same perks on all servers for my donor rank?
    No, it is broken down by the server on our Buycraft page.

    Is the world resetting?
    Yes.

    Will player ranks be reset?
    Yes.

    Will Philia require permission to join?
    No.

    what about private worlds?
    will private worlds be deleted again?
    if not then will the world be be resetted?
    will the worlds be saved from philia to lothar?

    Interested to see how the new Philia world turns out. Is this going to be another server where we need permission to enter or can anyone join?

    Also, when will this be happening exactly? It looks like the server is currently up on 1.13.2 still.

    yes private worlds will be removed due to the fact 1.14 requires new blocks.

    All worlds reset no saves sadly

    Private worlds will be added in the first update to Lothar.

    Why reset the world though?
    That's very short notice to just undo everything.
    I came back after a year of being gone, and I've been cutting down wood for the past 3 days, now it's all about to be undone and it will never get used. That's not fun.
    Can't we make this world a third subserver alongside Lothar and Philia, calling it Aurelia or Sophus, or something?

    Edit: Oof, and /fly disabled in the Nether. Guess I won't be going there then.

    Sounds pretty Awesome! Can't wait for philia.

    I don't really like the crate system with it, though.

    One important thing that I liked about philia was that the only way to make money was through mobs, bounties, and then can only be spent through either player ships (rare), but mainly for admin shops (Phantom membrane)

    It would be awesome if there was some compensation for voting, but not overly compensated through free items through crates and such.

    Possibly, I think that voting can be used for a TINY bit of $$ / levels or some "voucher" system. One "Key" can be traded in for 16 logs, 16 iron, 16 gunpowder, etc.

    Few Questions:
    - Will montly-voter prizes come back? ( Would love to start voting again, but haven't really felt the urge to... sorry it slips my mind)

    - Will the prizes be given to those who won ranks in skyblock last season? (video on corba crew about it)

    - For philia, is there a border / nether / end reset? (Dragon eggs are rare, but you know.. plox.)

    - Mining world for lothar, in that case?

    - Events? <3 I know that there are things happening, but will that be incorporated into 1.14?

    It is unfortunate for players that either just joined the server for the first time or just came back and started there’s a lot of people including myself that have full bases and loads of Corbacash and are ready for a fresh start and wanting to grind again. Allowing players to mingle and team up even more create new builds and spectacular farms or contraptions. With the nether not resetting for lothar it opens up the doors for cool bases and nether hubs connecting bases and allowing players to transport horses or other mobs that don’t teleport. The reset is also needed to allow proper generation of new structures.

    Seeing as I worked closely with Ergo on this update, I feel like I can provide some answers to a few of the questions mentioned above:

    @FlashTurtle:
    • Monthly voting rewards is definitely something we could look into on the longer run.
    • There will be 2 mining worlds on lothar, a normal overworld mineworld and a nether mineworld
    • Events will be added like mentioned in the announcement
    @Finn_The_Hobbit:
    • The update/reset to 1.13.2 was long overdue. By resetting/updating now we want to provide our players with a fresh and up to date experience that includes the newest features minecraft has to offer in their latest update. This won't only enable for new players that join the server to have a fresh and exciting experience but also for players that have been playing since the last update/reset.

    • Private worlds will always reset. This decisions was influenced by 2 factors, 1 being the fact that the update to 1.14 includes a bunch of new structures and such and the other, that it would be unfair for players with private worlds to be able to transfer their items and builds and other players wouldn't be able to do so. This would create too much of an unfair advantage, which is something we've been trying to minimalize.

    • The reason for not having fly in the nether is so we can provide a more of a survival experience, to add a more adventurous and challenging playstyle. This would also balance things out inbetween players with non-donor ranks and players with donor ranks. Something we could consider is to add fly to the nether mineworld as this world is merely intended for gathering resources and not necessarily exploration.

    • We will be updating to 1.14 and you will be able to join using minecraft 1.14.1. In order to minimize the issue of chunk generation we will be pregenerating the majority of the worlds. This means each world will also have a worldborder the main overworld will have the biggest worldborder which will most likely expand over time. Chunk generation is an issue that not only 1.14 is coping with but also 1.14.1 (although they claimed it has been improved) and there's no indication that they will further improve this in 1.14.2 as of now.
    I think this answers a few of your questions mentioned above and also gives you an explanation as to why things are the way they are.

    Ok I understand why if private worlds didn’t reset it would be unfair but we did pay for them and we deserve what it came with which was not being resetted I didn’t pay $15 for a smaller world then I could if build in the over world, yes there are good commands for the private world bust most people bought them because they were suppose to be reset friendly and if those worlds didn’t have those new blocks couldn’t we just reset the worlds ourself if we wanted to update with the new world? I’m just saying we deserve what we bought

    Awesome, I would (and a lot otherS) really like to start voting again in hopes of a reward xD even though I love the server, I usually don't vote because of rewards not having substantial use in the laterworld.

    Will the end be reset for dragon-eggs and elytras?

    Bumping my question for skyblock rewards: people still haven't gotten them yet.. also philia world reset rewards maybe too?

    One last thing: As of when ergo posted this, it was 4 days to the deadline. This has always happened with each reset.. and I'm starting to see a pattern with missing plugins, things not being set up right before resets (I killed end dragon, but could not get dragon egg 1.13 reset and had to go), econ system broke / non-existant with admin shop, etc.

    I really understand these errors, even though I am not a server owner I understand that things do happen. Is 4 (now 3) days enough time for you guys to actually fully reset the server successfully?
    For what I think, maybe beta-testers would be a good idea.. or giving 3-ish hours for maintenance (lag errors bound to happen).

    Hopefully Staff were given more than a measly four days notice to prepare everything, perhaps a Staff member could shed some light here... Definitely do not want a repeat of last time, where we had to wait several months for everything to be added!


    This is a good point, especially considering the fact that Donor Worlds were advertised as "reset safe". If Staff decide to reset Donor Worlds, however, those who purchased them should be given the option for a total refund. Because Players were told Donor Worlds would be "reset safe", yet they will be reset anyways, I feel as if we should have the choice for a refund.

    As for @Kristof8811's point of Players being given an unfair advantage with Donor Worlds, it could definitely be an issue. However, this can be easily remedied- simply ban containers in Private Worlds before a reset. Staff could simply pop onto the Donor World before a reset, verify everything is OK, and the World is saved. An absurdly excessive quantity of valuable blocks would of course be banned as well (Think mountains of Diamond Blocks).
    And to help deter Players from gaming the system, the punishment for not following these rules could be a reset of their world.


    Chunk generation was patched in 1.14.1, check out Xisuma's video on this- the difference is phenomenal! I also suspect that 1.14.2 would not be released without maintaining this patch, along with other crucial fixes.

    I have a few questions about the economy and player experience for Lothar, if any of this is decided.
    1) This question applies to 4 things: adminshop, ./shop, the crates system/loot, and kits.
    Will it be continued? If so, on release, or at a later date? Also, if these are continued options, then will specifics such as prices/numbers or enchantments change? If so, will we get advance knowledge of this, or will we have to wait until this is added to see the new prices/enchants?

    2) Will ./ah encompass actual auction functionality (in addition to what it currently does now)?

    3) I'm sure staff has considered adding various functionalities such as silk touching spawners, uncapped anvil upgrades, etc. Am I correct in assuming that none of these will be added?

    4) Will the current warphall system be continued, and if not, what would replace it (if any)?

    5) Will there be any changes to the pvp system (two arenas, freely jump in and out, etc.)? P.S Since I'm probably going to get this a lot: Yes, I know that Philia will have pvp. I'm asking specifically about Lothar.

    That's all that I think I got for now, thanks for any answers!

    Upon further reflection, I have 2 more questions to add.
    6) Will the quests system change, and if so, how?

    7) Will claim block system reset? If so, to how much? Also, will anything else change about claim blocks (more ways to buy or anything)?

    I still disagree that the server should be reset. We can update to 1.14, and keep this world. All we'd be missing was stuff that isn't all that important anyway, like Pillager Outposts and Bamboo forests.
    Pillager Outposts don't contain any exclusive loot, they're not worth erasing the world.
    Bamboo can be supplemented with Common crates or something, since Scaffolding can be helpful. As for the forests themselves, all we'd miss out on is Pandas... which... are just kinda there. They don't have any exclusive drops, they don't have any value other than "flavour".

    So that just leaves the rest of the update, that doesn't touch world generation at all, and will still be playable in the current world. Nothing would stop the world in 1.14 from having campfires, or illager patrols. The only reason to reset when updating to 1.14 would be to generate Outposts and Pandas which could not generate otherwise, and neither of which give anything special. There is no real reason to update to 1.14 unless you are putting the value of the server lower than Pandas.

    As for flying in the Nether, well... so? Flying in the overworld is also an issue then, since it takes away from the survival and challenging experience. It also is unbalanced between donators and non-dons because flying could help you find pyramids, temples, villages, monuments, shipwrecks, mansions, even just nice places to build homes way faster than those who can't fly. The Nether is especially a place where fly is needed because it's just far too dangerous without it because there's no keepinventory (I'm not asking for keepinventory). There is absolutely zero chance I'm going to go to the Nether with Rare gear if I could lose it in 10 seconds thanks to a small mistake. The cost of death in the Nether far exceeds the fun and value of being in the Nether when you have so much good stuff to lose. That's balanced out by flying. It also makes finding exclusive resources way harder. If I want Nether Wart, how much time am I going to have to spend avoiding danger, just to find a fortress that's been cleared by someone else, or claimed so I can't touch it? That's not fun.

    I can understand no flying in the End. The End's biggest threat is falling off into the void, meanwhile the Nether's biggest threat is just a barrage of danger from mobs, lava, fire, magma blocks, gravel, etc. The End also uses floating islands as a challenge, and the task is to get from one to the other, which is completely negated by flying, so in other words, if you could fly in the End you'd remove all challenge, and therefore it's not fun, but that's not the same for the Nether which still has plenty of challenge while flying.

    Wow. So many responses by this, good work boss XD Ok so the thing I was suggesting/wondering is our /ah plugin PLUS a actual auction plugin with the /auc start commands and what not. Yes ah is good and it has the ability for players to make easy money throwing some stuff in there and waiting. But you also can just start a auction low, and likely get more than you asked (or less) obviously our diamond rule will have to follow, but still could prove to more active chat, more balanced economy, and more fun to be honest.

    I would argue that we still need Pillager Outposts, simply because they are needed to obtain Raids. For Bamboo, it can be easily obtained from Fishing, and Staff could make it a common reward or sell it along with berries in the Adminshop. As for Pandas, they could be given out as prizes for Events!
    I do see a way we can get new 1.14 terrain, however- resetting unsettled chunks with MC Edit! They would then generate with 1.14 terrain.

    I do wish that CorbaCraft would adopt a policy of less resets. It is tiring to see a reset again and again, less than 6 months apart. This discourages me from playing, and makes me spend my time elsewhere. We have been promised in the past "Oh, these Servers are merging so we'll reset less" but here we are... Just a meager four months from the last reset.
    I understand why we need to reset, but surely there are better solutions than resetting every few months! I just want to see a server that lasts at least a year before resetting. :/

    Well I think we should reset every MAJOR update but that could be a problem since lately they been coming out every 6 months so if we did reset at least once a year then we would miss a whole major update and into the new one but a way to bypass this is just make a new world that’s updated

    The update frequency is a large problem with how minecraft is for itself, but what I believe we should do, especially when it comes to next update, was what we originally had in mind: add a new "expansion" world for the server. When 1.15 comes out, everyone who has access to the old world will still be able to keep playing it, and people can choose between worlds through warps. As for a mining world, there could be other supplements for it- or at that point not just have one at all when 1.15 comes out. A mining world should be updated maybe once every 2-ish months.. so I think we should be fine with 1.15. Don't know though
